Installation Guide

Fresh concrete should not be allowed to dry out quickly. The following curing procedure is recommended:

  1. Cover with plastic sheeting as soon as the concrete is hard enough not to be marked by sheeting.
  2. Weigh down around the edges so that wind wind cannot blow underneath.
  3. Keep in place for at least three days.

If there is a risk of frost the concrete should be protected with an insulation quilt between weighted down plastic sheets or with a layer of sand.

Concrete can take foot or light weight wheeled traffic after 3 or 4 days, but should not be trafficked by cars for at least 1 week and for up to 2 weeks in cold weather. Up to 4 weeks may be required for very heavy vehicles such as fuel lorries.
